Husband, Brother, Dad and Grandad

We all have such fantastic memories of Dad! On Thursday we will hold a memorial service followed by one of Dad's favorite things - a trip to the local pub - to share stories and chat. Whether you are able to come or not, please feel free to share your photo's and memories of Dad below and contribute to the site in any way.

Thoughts

The house of the Collars was so wonderful & important to our Glen Eyre gang growing up. My memories have forever stayed in my heart of your kindness, politeness, wisdom & warm hospitality. So so many happy memories & formative years one never realises until we grow up. Time seems to pass so quickly & sometimes those days seem like yesterday. I know you were a such a supportive husband & father to your 3 wonderful boys. I am away on vacation so I’m sorry I couldn’t be with you today. Tonight is a full moon & I will say a prayer today for you all. RIP John ( Mr Collar ! course ) xx Elizabeth Baker

Do not go gentle into that good night, Old age should burn and rave at close of day; Rage, rage against the dying of the light. Though wise men at their end know dark is right, Because their words had forked no lightning they Do not go gentle into that good night. Good men, the last wave by, crying how bright Their frail deeds might have danced in a green bay, Rage, rage against the dying of the light. Wild men who caught and sang the sun in flight, And learn, too late, they grieved it on its way, Do not go gentle into that good night. Grave men, near death, who see with blinding sight Blind eyes could blaze like meteors and be gay, Rage, rage against the dying of the light. And you, my father, there on the sad height, Curse, bless, me now with your fierce tears, I pray. Do not go gentle into that good night. Rage, rage against the dying of the light. Dylan Thomas
